Lisa joins Healthworks Wellness with many years of experience. She completed her Bachelor of Physical Activity Studies at the University of Regina in 1993. From there she went on to complete and obtain her Bachelor of Social Work and has been working with children, youth and families ever since. Lisa uses a strength-based, client centered, trauma informed approach. Lisa’s practice techniques are inferred by CBT, Brief Solution Focused therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Play Therapy and Mindfulness. Lisa continues to learn about the importance of incorporating mindfulness and play therapy in our daily lives. She works in Collaboration with clients to identify goals, build skills and learn strategies to manage big emotions.
When Lisa isn’t working she enjoys running, working out at the gym, watching sports and spending time with family.
Kirsten practices with a Master of Social Work (MSW) granted from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2020 and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Kirsten completed both a Bachelor of Psychology and a Bachelor of Human Justice at the University of Regina in 2011 and has worked in the human service field with children, adolescents, and adults ever since.
When Kirsten isn’t busy spending time with her husband and dog, she can be found expanding her knowledge to improve her practice. Kirsten has a wide range of interests, including trauma treatment, interventions for anxiety, stress management, and complementary approaches, including yoga, nutrition, and mindfulness.
Kirsten began her counselling practice in September 2020 and, since then, has grown her practice to include additional therapeutic modalities and interventions. Kirsten is professionally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and fully incorporates this in her practice. Her practice is further informed by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Solution-focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Kirsten has studied yoga professionally, focusing on trauma-informed yoga and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance.
Kirsten approaches every interaction with a strength-based, trauma-informed perspective. She creates a compassionate, safe, and collaborative environment for everyone she works with. Kirsten is dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey of exploration, healing, and growth.
